32-3 Charger VICTORY

what a NFL weekend...

I didn't do so well on my weekly picks. DARN you 49ers!!! Everytime I actually give you guys a chance you BLOW IT!!!!! Now my brother is beating me and he is going to taunt me via text messages!!!

KC beat the STEELERS and the RAIDERS beat BENGALS!

The AFC west was shakin' it up!!!!

This was the best part though...

This is my illustration of the encounter, but you can read the Union Tribune's version below.

week 11

McDaniels' trash talk laid to waste

Chargers Steve Gregory runs with a fumble he recovered after the ball was stripped from Broncos quarterback Chris Simms in the first quarter. San Diego scored on the drive following the turnover.

Jay Cutler is gone. So maybe Josh McDaniels is the Bronco that San Diego will love to hate now.

The Chargers' locker room was abuzz yesterday, as players were both offended and amused by the Denver Broncos head coach telling the Chargers linebackers before yesterday's game, "We own you."

That, at least, was the version offered by the linebackers, to a man.

McDaniels, who slowed down to talk on his way to his car more than an hour after the game, said the Chargers started the trash talking. He would not elaborate on what he may have said, but neither did he deny he talked back.

"They talked to me first," McDaniels said. "I'm not making a story about this. If I did, I'd be able to tell you some things that aren't (fit) for papers."

The linebackers did not deny one or more among them may have started the dishing, but they thought McDaniels' behavior was beneath a man in his position.

"You gotta like his fire," Stephen Cooper said. "As a head coach I don't think you want to start jawing with players if you're not putting the pads on."

With a laugh, considering the Chargers' 32-3 victory, Cooper added, "Looks like he owned us, but it got repossessed."

A smiling Shawne Merriman said of McDaniels popping off: "It was cute."

Other Chargers said McDaniels directed his barb at Shaun Phillips. A source said it was Phillips who actually began the give and take.

"I'm not surprised," Phillips said of McDaniels talking. "He's a little cocky. ... It's all good, all fun and games. We didn't look too much into it. As a coach, I hope he has that mindset. But to say he owns us? I mean, you beat us one time. What has he really done in this league? He had a team 6-0, and now he's looking up at us from second place."

pre-game rituals

I don't do anything cool as a pre-game ritual like OTHER people...

but this past game after church and before the game, a friend had this great idea to support Darren Sproles and pick up lunch at submarina (sproles is the spokesperson). I think he suggested this because he didn't want indulge in lettuce and apples for lunch AGAIN (don't worry... I'm not offended) and he knew I would oblige because who doesnt love Darren Sproles???!!!

DarrenSproles

They had squaw bread! I haven't had squaw bread since the dorms!

subs

So we got back to the apt at like noonish and ate lunch and waited for the game to start...

Time flew right by and we got to the last 2 minutes of the game:

and this whole time I was watching the game from behind the couch and death gripping a pillow.

Bless you Tom Coughlin for going for the FG over the TD!!!

After the game I proclaimed these subs as magical and will always eat them before a game.

Fun Sunday!

BIG BEN and H.Ward... MNF... WIN IT!!!!

gigantor GIANTS

GIANTS on Sunday...

Eli vs. Philip.. I like Philip... I know, I know.. he has a mouth, but he's just passionate about the game. Geeze!

Chambers is gone and has found a new home in KC.

In return we have JAMES HOLT #53 OLB being promoted from the practice squad.

He's a rookie from the University of Kansas... KU Jayhawks (I think?)

holt

He's the one on the left #12.

In college he won the 2008 Ray Evans Defensive Player of the Year Award and the 2008 Willie Pless Most Tackles Award.

Some other random facts that I learned about him:

He was born in Oklahoma and in college he was a HISTORY major.

He says cooking is his main hobby and he can play the guitar AND the piano.

He likes to play tennis, golf, frisbee, soccer, AND FOOTBALL of course.

In college his pregame ritual was to listen to music, relax, and crack jokes with his team.

Good Luck JAMES, dont disappoint us!

37-7

I  know it was just KC, but it was really nice to watch a blowout game!!!

Red Zone... COME ON!!! We used to be able to CHARGE through there.

And we can't keep wasting our interceptions... TD's not Feild Goals (but I still love you Nate!).

None the less I'm still proud a fan. Let's keep it up guys!

On another note... I giggled at ths email my sister sent of Zoe.

100_4688

Our little cowgirl. She has a million dollar smile... like literally, you have to give her a million dollars to see it. If you can't tell from the picture she likes to mug it! Or maybe she's thinking "get this ugly thing off my head" Either way she's gangsta.

I'm kind of bummed the Angel's lost last night. I dont really like baseball, but I was rooting for them. I actually watched bits and pieces of the playoffs at my own freewill.

And finally... I just wanted to let everyone know that... if you ran 13.1 miles you ran a HALF marathon, NOT a marathon. Please do not text me, call me, email me, or contact me via any means to tell me you ran a marathon if you only ran 13.1 miles.

That is a HALF marathon.

You can tell me you ran a half and I'll congratulate you and ask for all the details and be happy for you, BUT do not say you ran a marathon... because you didn't. Thanks!

I like half marathons... they are my sweet spot. Not too long, but not too short and after you run you can still be productive with your day. It's really the perfect distance.

dOCa

That was my first half.... awwww.. memories!

And yes, I am too cheap to actually purchase any race photos.

Okay... 1 more random thought... so after watching a full day of football: chargers, cowboys, giants (and flipping back and forth to the angel game) I went to the NFL channel and everyone kept talking about Mark Sanchez and hot dogs. I didn't get it and I ignored it... I wasn't too interested in the Jets and Raiders, but then I saw the clip and laughed.

He was hungry... geeze! Leave the guy alone.
